DISTRICTS

Gothic District

Is where it all started. It even preserves Roman vestiges. The name of the Gothic Quarter comes from an urban plan that was made to attract tourists during the 19th century. The façade of the Cathedral and other buildings are still contemporary, but the beauty and history of this neighborhood is invaluable.

Montjuich Hill

Montjuic means the Jewish mount. Green area and lung of Barcelona. From the top of the mountain, the views of the city are spectacular. It is known as the Magic Mountain, since it hosted many of the facilities of the Olympics, such as the Olympic Stadium.

Raval District

Old Port

It is the oldest part of the Port of Barcelona, It is where the artificial port of Barcelona was born, with a large tradition is one of the oldest port at the Mediterranean. Before the Olympics in 92, it was the merchant port and it was one of the places where the Olympic transformation was it bigger.

Poble Sec

In catalan means "Dry Town". It was an agricultural area before the first big transformation of Barcelona. It was converted  into an industrial area. Three big chimneys are the reminder of this period.. Today is a "Foodie" area, one of the favorite Districts for the locals to enjoy nice Tapas & Restaurants.

It was the last neighborhood built in Old Town; Gothic, Borne and Raval. In its beginnings churches, convents and cultivation fields were built. During the Industrial Revolution it was the place for factories nd warehouses.  Later became a worker class neighborhood. The first market in Barcelona is also located here, is next to Las Rambla, the famous "La Boquería"
