FULL DESCRIPTION

All over the world, Barcelona is famous for having been a vibrant center of art and culture during the 20th Century. In particular, Catalan Modernism was born here, an artistic current which influenced architecture, sculpture, music, literature and art.

Our route has the goal to bring you to discover the traces left by this amazing historical period in the city, symbolized by the great architect Antoni Gaudí and his masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia. Between our electric bike tours, we propose an e-bike tour where a guide will give you a strolling tour by bike through the city to culminate in front of the Sagrada Familia. Here you will get access to the temple for the inside tour of the Cathedral and its premises (School building and the Gaudí Museum). Inside you can take the tour at your own pace, following the written extensive explanation, or you can enrich your experience choosing an audioguide in your own language to enjoy at full the Antonio Gaudi’s masterpiece and its artistic legacy.

The Visit inside takes about one hour. At the end our guide will be outside waiting for you to bring you back to the departure point safely and happy!

DISTRICTS

Gothic District

The Gothic Quarter is the oldest nucleus of the city and its historical center. The structure of the neighborhood remained intact until the 20th century. For the Universal Exhibition in 1888, this neighborhood was transformed into Gothic Style. It means that some buildings are not originally from this period.

Eixample District

Born District

As its name suggests, in Catalan means the place for hosted tournaments and jousting matches during the medieval time. It preserves the medieval flavour, with small streets, artisanal and local shops. A vibrant area, teeming with terraces, modern bars and Restaurants to eat tapas and traditional catalan food.

Eixample means Extenison. Until 1860 Barcelona was surrounded by Medieval Walls. The

population lived asfixed by the walls and it was necessary to expand the city. The Extension Plan was designed by Ildefonso Cerdà Its grid-like layout and blocks with chamfered corners have made it an iconic symbol of Barcelona and the subject of study around the world. With the Industrial Revolution appears ·"The "Bourgeoisie" and with it, "The Catalan Modernism" where we can see the most iconic buildings around the Eixample, including the Antonio Gaudi masterpieces; Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and Sagrada Familia.
